As a performer he has had a thriving career thus-far, working in companies such as Pina Bausch Tanztheater, Opera de Lyon and Flanders Ballet amongst others. In 2013 Jim moved to Gothenburg, Sweden to join the Göteborgs Danskompani under the direction of Adolphe Binder. in 2017 Jim decided to start freelancing as a creator, dancer and photographer.

He has been working together with Chalmers University as a researcher on the common ground between Architecture and Dance. In 2015 and 2017 Jim was invited to the Open Look Festival in St-Petersburg to make 2 choreographic pieces and give masterclasses.

Jim studied Fine Art photography at the Royal academy of Arts in Antwerp. As a photographer he draws from his experience as a professional stage performer –with the body as artistic instrument- developing a unique and poetic visual language with a keen eye for body language and use of space. His work highlights the relationship humans have with their surroundings and with each other. His photography reveals what is invisible, hidden and secret. It lays the body bare both in the real and figurative sense.

Jim’s photographic work has been exhibited in galleries across Scandinavia. His images have been published in prominent magazines and have been licensed for book and music album covers. Most recently, one of his photographic works has been chosen as “Best of 2020” by Vogue Italia.
